From Hepatitis C in Egypt
After being the highest country in the world with Hepatitis C prevalence, we are finally on track. Egypt is currently considered the global leader in the fight against Hepatitis C, providing an affordable and effective cure.
In the last year a million people were cured from Hepatitis C worldwide, 830,000 of them in Egypt, 600,000 using Pharco’s medicines.

Studies
were started in the three biggest liver centers in Egypt. The results were at an impressive cure rate of 97.5%, follow up showed no virus presence after 3 months from stopping the medicine.

Pharco presented at the annual San Francisco conference closing ceremony the abstract entitled: High Virologic Response Rate in Egyptian HCV-Genotype 4 Patients Treated with Ravidasvir (PPI-668) and Sofosbuvir: Results of a Large Multicenter Phase 3 Registrational Trial. Dr. Gamal Esmat, representing Pharco, was the first Arab to present in the closing ceremony, where the major treatment protocols for the upcoming year are agreed upon.
